ADVIKA is a Boston-based artist, songwriter, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends electronic and acoustic instrumentation with thoughtful, honest lyrics. Her work is influenced by jazz, electroacoustic, and subtle Carnatic (South Indian classical) elements. Her vocal performances are emotive and deliver the lyrics with sincerity and vulnerability. Advika's diverse musical backgrounds create a unique sound that is appealing to a wide range of listeners.
ADVIKA’s musical journey started at the age of four, with classical piano. Later in elementary school, she began her training in classical viola as well as Carnatic singing. She subsequently found her love for jazz singing, seeking inspiration in the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Betty Carter. Around the age of thirteen, she began to write her own music and started experimenting with music production, found sounds, and sound design, incorporating elements from all the genres she loved.
Currently, she studies at Berklee College of Music, majoring in Electronic Production and Design. She produces her own music while continuing to perform in live shows and playing viola both in orchestras and as a session player.
ADVIKA is also a multimedia visual artist, and creates her own album art as well as lyric videos. The artwork she creates is vibrant and colorful, and rather than identifying as an artist or a musician, she blends both identities together to create multi-dimensional pieces of art.
